Mom's Night Out

Welcome to August, homeschool moms! Just wanted to give you a heads up about a couple of things. Our first Homeschool Moms Night Out meeting will be on September 12th from 7 to 9 ---- and it will be sort of a how-to seminar. Dave or Cathy Barfield will talk about the legal issues, etc., and we'll just sort of field questions about homeschooling in general, about homeschooling in Lawrence, etc. So this first meeting won't be a typical homeschool moms meeting ... but if you have questions, or just want to participate in the Q&A session, please join us! On this same evening (Sep 12), beginning at 10 pm, Signs of Life is sponsoring a "Release Party" for the new Switchfoot CD. We will have live music, giveaways, etc. This is something you might want to let your high school or college-aged children or friends know about -- it's going to be a lot of fun! (although it will be late!) We have also begun having a STORYTIME on Saturdays at 11 a.m. This is, of course, free to the public. We'll be trying to feature Five in a Row or other quality children's books at that time. DO tell your friends with young children. It is probably geared mostly to preschool through primary grades. I'll update you soon with more info on the Homeschool Moms Night Outs for this fall.
