It won't be long before band and orchestra will resume rehearsals. Mr. Swischer and I need to get an idea of how many will be enrolling in beginning band this year. This level is for kids in third grade and above who have little to no musical experience. It is necessary to determine what instrument your child will be playing in band. If you need help with that task, let me know. An information email will go out as soon as we know how many levels of band there will be and then check availability of Hume Music Store. We would really like to see an advanced band start up this year, so if that interests those that have been playing for awhile, please consider joining this group. There could be a beginning orchestra this year if enough sign up. As it stands now, the current orchestra level is considered "intermediate" and Mrs. Schellman welcomes new members to that group that have some experience with their string instrument. They have been meeting all summer and will be having a recital on July 30th at the Presbyterian Manor. Mrs. Schellman's private students begin playing at 2pm and the orchestra will conclude the recital. A homeschool choir is still an option but we need more kids to make it work. If you have any questions or want to sign up for band, orchestra, or choir - email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 841-6308.
