Chess Mates Homeschool Chess Club will resume meetings in October.  We would like to hear from families about their availability to meet on a weekday – preferably in the afternoon.  As it stands now, we plan to meet on Tuesday evenings at Christ Covenant Church – 2312 Harvard Rd – from 7 – 8pm.  The change to a daytime meeting may not work out in the end, but we are looking into it.  I know that we WOULD NOT meet on Tuesday afternoons because of TLC – other days/times will need to be cleared with the church we meet at.

Chess club dues will be the same as last year - $1.00 per member – each time you attend.  We give a portion to the church as a love offering for the use of the building.  The rest goes toward supplies that benefit the club.  We hope to purchase a few chess clocks for those members that want to prepare for chess tournaments.  I am in contact with the Wellsville area homeschool chess club about doing some group ordering on clocks.  We might have enough to purchase two or three clocks if we can get a good price.  They are also interested in having a tournament with us.   

Please feel free to call or email me with questions or to sign up.  It is nice to have an idea of how many might be attending so we are prepared with enough tables, boards, etc.  However, we won’t turn away any “drop-ins” :o)
