Dear Friends:

I'm writing as the wife of a Coast Guard aviator, CMDR Todd Campbell who's the Sector Air Boss of the Coast Guard in New Orleans helping with logistics in the rescue efforts. It is an insurmountable task and the rescuers are becoming weary in their well-doing. I could give you harrowing tales of these daddies and mommies who are working round the clock to rescue the folks in New Orleans, but that's not why I'm writing.

In your little circle of the world I would ask you to orchestrate a sea of encouragement to wash over their weary bones. As a group, please ask your friends, SS classes, classrooms, offices, etc to collectively write notes of encouragement to the Coast Guard aviation crews. A HUGE portion of crews from every part of the USA are here. Once the rescue turns to a recovery mission, these crews will need even more encouragement. Your gratitude expressed in the written form will give them the boost of energy that no Starbucks could offer.

SO, please send them as follows: gather as many cards (or have a whole slew of people sign one card....be creative) AND SEND ONE envelope to: Rescuers c/o Todd Campbell Operation CG Wave of Encouragement, LA Convention Center and Hotel, Room 347,2225 N. McArthur Blvd., Alexandria, LA 71303. I know these cards will be treasured and re-read in the dark hours ahead. As I'm writing, Todd called to say they are so desperate for pilots who've slept in the last 2 days, that he is getting back in the cockpit. Your prayers are treasured and are the very things that are keeping these rescuers protected and alive. Your efforts are as critical as any bottle of water.

Thanks again for being God's hand extended.

Jeanette Campbell
