WHAT TO DO WITH STRETCH MARKS?: Genuine problems for women, stretch marks are unsightly streaks that usually appear on certain parts of the body like breasts, belly, buttocks, legs … They result either from a rapid and violent stretch of the skin or from Sudden and unexpected changes in weight (loss or increase in pounds) or pregnancy (in fact, the hormonal changes undergone during this period tend to relax and damage the skin). MEDICAL TREATMENTS

ANTI-STRETCH MARK CREAMS

There are two types of creams:

• those without medical prescription: moisturizing creams, protective creams (such as sunscreens) and covering creams (to camouflage stretch marks);
• those on medical prescription: vitamins A, C, and E

creams . The effectiveness of each of these creams depends on both the type of stretch marks and the people to be treated.

PEELING

It is a medical technique that consists of “scratching” the skin, that is to say removing the upper layers of the skin so that it can regenerate. Peeling helps both to make the tissues more supple and smoother, and also to alleviate wrinkles and stretch marks. There are two types of peeling:

  • mechanical peeling (or dermabrasion);
  • chemical peeling.

For best results, peeling is usually associated with laser sessions.

DERMABRASION

It is a simple mechanical peeling technique that consists in sanding the skin to regenerate and tone it. This allows reconstruction of the collagen elastic fibers. Depending on the area to be treated, a session of dermabrasion lasts between 20 and 40 minutes, and it is done under local anesthesia (it takes about 800 euros per session).

One week after the treatment, the skin will make, and the epidermis will reconstitute. Patients will be able to observe the final result after 15 days. However, dermabrasion is effective only in the short term (in fact, stretch marks can reappear after a few months).

THE LASER

The laser is a very effective treatment (provided that it is carried out by a professional), using light rays that heat up in contact with the skin. The lasers used are vascular (this type makes it possible in particular to treat the vascular lesions without damaging the pigments located around them). The laser session is very fast, but the healing can last several weeks. For a session, it takes between 150 and 500 euros.

LED PHOTOMODULATION

Still called chromo stimulation, photo-modulation is a medical technique that uses light-emitting diodes to improve the production of elastin and collagen. These two proteins are very effective in attenuating stretch marks.

NATURAL TREATMENTS

CARROT PASTE

Steam 4 carrots until tender. Then, use a crusher to make carrot purée and place the carrot on the affected parts. Leave on for at least one hour and rinse thoroughly with cold water (hot water is likely to damage your skin further).

For preparation, you will need an avocado, a teaspoon of olive oil and a few leaves of aloe or aloe vera. You will then mix all these ingredients in a blender until you get a smooth paste. Said adhesive should be used for circular massages on the affected parts (for at least 10 minutes).

HONEY AND LEMON

In a mixer, mix four teaspoons of honey, ten drops of lemon and half a liter of water until a smooth and homogeneous paste is obtained. Use it to massage yourself and let it work for 15 minutes. Afterward, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Subsequently, add 8 to 10 drops of lemon juice and let stand for at least four weeks. Once the time has elapsed, dilute the mixture in one liter of water and massage with the product obtained (at least twice a day).To choose the best treatment, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist.
